TEACHING

I teach graduate students in MFA Fine Arts at the School of Visual Arts and undergraduate students in IdP at the New School. In addition to leading capstone studio courses, each year I lead special topics courses on collaboration, emergent art worlds, start-ups, and solidarity economies. I am currently developing an interactive teaching tool that traces the life cycle of projects — the ways materials are sourced, how the labor for producing a project is organized, how tools are accessed, how a project is supported, licensed, narrated, encountered, acquired, and how it finally departs, ready for another life cycle. Called Of Supply Chains, this project has been developed and produced by Susan Jahoda, Emilio Martinez Poppe, and myself, and provides a vocabulary and a set of practices to think through economies of solidarity in the arts. Visit Of Supply Chains →
